The Very beginning

Indersity's story starts with our founder, Sam Digiambattista, skiing in Jackson, WY. He needed a new shell and noticed all of the high-performance shells were made with the same material. A few quick Google searches later taught him the unfortunate truth behind the outerwear industry: nearly all top-performing gear is made with forever chemicals.

Then, after finding no alternatives that offered both top-tier performance ratings and environmentally friendly materials, Sam began his journey to develop a shell material with Zero Compromises.

Pulling Together The Team

To bring Indersity's vision into reality we needed a team of experts spanning from engineers to professional athletes.

By reaching out to everyone we could find and sharing our vision for the industry and plan to get there, we ended up with engineers and mills excited to join Indersity in developing a new material.

This got our foot in the door.

Phase 1: Developing InderShield™
The Industry

To our benefit, the established players, especially those in the material sector, have not made significant efforts to develop new solutions over the past few decades. They've had materials that worked, people bought it, and no one knew about the use and harms of PFAS in these materials... so they didn't change it.

However, while the industry hasn't moved much in the last 50 years, technology has progressed, making new and improved engineering and end solutions possible.

This is when we went all in.

Phase 1: Developing InderShield™
The Development Process

Our development process involved engineers and target end users. We worked with end users to determine exactly what numbers we needed to shoot for, what balance of waterproofness & MVTR is best for the material's application, and overall what the product needed to do in order to improve the lives of those pushing limits outdoors all year.

Then, we worked with our teams of engineers to figure out different ways we could achieve the performance specifications from the consumers without using forever chemicals.

Phase 1: Developing InderShield™
What Made it Possible

By leveraging new technology with our brilliant teams of engineers we were able to develop a handful of new and competitive solutions over the course of a year. By the end, we set new waterproof and MVTR standards using eco-friendly materials.

We developed InderShield™ before having a brand, product, demand, or expectations. This was critical to our success because this allows us to have an incredibly quick iteration cycle.

These circumstances are a major reason for why it was possible for us to develop InderShield™.

Phase 2: Creating Our First Jacket
Indersity's First Shell

Working closely with professional skiers, we designed Indersity's first shell jacket.

We spent the 2023/2024 winter season testing jackets in the field for their functionality, durability, and style.

By the end, we had perfected the shell's design. Our shell is unique because it's designed for peak backcountry functionality with the massive chest pockets, long underarm vents, helmet compatible hood, etc; but we designed it to have a slightly baggier fit and style which isn't typically found in technical backcountry gear. This design quickly became popular among freeride skiers.

Phase 3: Launching our first line
Bringing InderShield™ To Market

Fall 2024 was when we launched our 40/30 shell jacket, named after InderShield's performance ratings.

This was the first time InderShield™ had been available to the public.

We sold out before the end of the ski season.

Phase 3: Launching our first line
Getting The Word Out / The Groms

To get the word out, we put together the strongest team of young athletes any brand has seen. We went to the freeride communities of competitive young athletes in the US and Canada and gave them the opportunity to grow with our company in exchange for their representation and early support of our gear.

Our company's mission and vision resonated deeply within these freeride communities and we were able to put together the best team of young athletes out there.

Now, we have a team of young athletes all on full sponsorships representing Indersity and growing with our company.

Phase 4: Expanding The Line

With last season's success, we've been able to expand our line, launching Fall 2025.
