1. Lab Testing

Our products always start in the lab, where we set performance targets for new developments. Water pressure, moisture vapor transmission, spray, and the killer wash test are just some of the lab tests our materials undergo to ensure they have the best performance in their class and are ready to move on to the next steps.

InderShield™ Rugged has a 40,000mm waterproof rating and a 30,000g moisture vapor transmission rating following the JIS & ISO standard.

2. Severe Storm Testing

After a material hits our lab testing targets, we test it in unimaginable storm conditions. In our rain chamber, we simulate storms more extreme than the most severe weather the material is intended to withstand. This proves the material's performance in a garment enduring the harshest of weather conditions.

InderShield™ Rugged products must endure our most severe tests.

1: It must endure 23 inches of rainfall per hour for one full hour. This is approximately 6 times the rainfall of a cloudburst.

2: It must endure 192.5" of rainfall per hour for 30 minutes. That is 2 gallons of water/minute/square foot for 30 minutes.

To pass, the shell must prevent the layer beneath from getting wet. We fit the subject with a base layer that absorbs water. If the layer is dry at the end of the test, that means the shell successfully kept water out and will keep you dry.

3. Field Testing

Once the material has proven itself in the lab and in severe storm conditions, it's time to bring it into the field. We work with professional athletes who spend all year pushing our gear to the limit.

InderShield™ Rugged was tested on dozens of athletes around the world with over 10,000 hours of testing in the field.
